OK I pulled the codes a while ago and I know I have a problem with the EGR that I'm too lazey to fix, but just reciantly my X is surging while I'm at 55 to 65 mph and over 2000 rpm. Not allways but only somtimes. It will go away if I take it out of overdrive.
BTW I replaced the FPR about 6 months ago and the fuel filter a few years back. It has 145k. Also new o2 sensor.

Is this a trany problem or a fuel problem? I cleaned the TPS and it made no diference.
Thanks

It almost sounds like a timing problem

Try cleaning the Mass Air Sensor. Mine did something similar and this cured it.

I forgot to mention I did clean out the MAS. How do I check the timing? I though it was computer controled.

I'm sure it is controlled by computer but you should still be able to check it with a timing light but you may have to take it in to change it. It could even be your timing chain with some wear on it slipping.
