Hey, a freidn of mine has a 95 Mustang V-6. He bought it because it was a good price ($7500) and now he wants a V-8. I have heard that if the the year and model car you have was made with the engine you want to swap in, then it would go right in, w/ no troubles. Is this correct? Could he just have everything go right in? I know he would have to go get a 95 5.0L engine the computer definately. But what about wiring, could he just use all the wiring and connectors he has right now? Do the V-6's also have a T-5 tranny? I think it does, in that case, he wouldn't have to change the tranny. What else am I missing? Motor mounts? Would they have to be changed, or would they work with the 5.0 also? I would liek to know this also. Could he, if he found one, just go get the complete engine, wiring, and computer, and take it some place and have them put it in easily (not too much cost)? What about A/C and PS? Thanks

Motors.....

Man, you are in for some fun now.

The best thing you can do is hit some of the Mustang sites and ask this question of them. The tranny may not bolt up to the the V8. I have a Trans Am and the V6 models have a different bolt pattern on the bellhousing than the V8's do. so It's time for a new tranny as well.

Money wise he may be better off selling his car and buying one that is already a V8.

Another option is to go the SVO route and put a big Turbo on that V6, it'll be diferent.

Motor mounts are available at the salvage or over the counter. Most of the parts he'll need he can get at the salvage too.

Good Luck.

I have heard the trans is the same. But one other thing is the Exhaust is totaly differnt so the Whole system needs to be replaced. I know that the 5.0 swap for the 94+ mustang is possible.
