Hi. I have a buddy that has a 1997 XLT 4x4 w/ the 4.0 V6 EFI/OHV and wants to possibly do a swap to the 5.0 V8 EFI. He has been looking online lately at the price of 5.0s and wants to know if he can have it done.
Is it a simple swap or is there a huge rebuild in the cards. Let me know in the simplist way possible as he and I are not experienced mechianics
Once he knows the labor and work needed, he'll find a great local mechianic he know to do the job.
Also....is there steel engine block avaliable for the 4.0 EFI engine? He just can't live with an aluminium block...
