I thought i'd give everyone a heads up on this product since very few people i've spoken to locally know about it.
I just finished integrating the scosche IPBCK bluetooth adaptor into my Audi A6. The sound quality is great and it easiy has the claimed 30' wireless range.
It is meant as a way to wirelessly connect the ipod or other mp3 player (or anythign with a headphone jack for that matter- computer anyone?) to the rca inputs on the back of an aftermarket hu. It comes with a small box you would locate behind the hu and run the rca's into the hu from, and another small piece which plugs into the headphone jack itself. I'm sure it would work great in that context and will be awesome to use at car shows etc. (i'll be able to control what's playing and the volume inside the truck via the bluetooth on my ipod while using the remote on my rear head unit to seperately control what is played out the back, while i sit on a chair behind the truck...)
However, the way i used it in my A6 was to hook it up directly to my audiocontrol eqx, which then feeds my jbl 755.6 6 channel amplifier, which then feeds every speaker in the car... I don't have to use the factory head unit at all (nor do i have to modify it or even disassemble the car) in order to listen to my ipod. The quality is also much better than it was prior to intallation when i was using the eqx as a line out converter.
This means that you could do an install in a classic truck or classic car without removing the vintage radio or needing a hide-away unit, and an install with true audiophile quality sound... This also is a way to bypass any problems with integration that people are always complaining about with German and Japanese cars (although, it poses another one- if you want to keep your radio, which i did)
I hope this gives some people some new ideas, this is definitely a product that i wouldn't want to be without in either of my vehicles now that i've used it.
