I have an exhaust leak I think on the passenger side on my 98 V8 somewhere up around the manifold. It has the tubular style manifolds. Are these vehicles known for ex leaks either on the manifold or the gasket..............because the leak almost quites after a few miles down the road so not sure if I have a gasket problem or a manifold problem.

a lot of times (like mine) it is the egr valve cracked coming off the manifold.. the reason it quiets down in a few minutes because when the engine warms up the steel expands and somewhat seals the leak... if you can while its running use a piece of hose and put it to where you think the leak is and you should hear it through the other end..

It's pretty common for the pas side manifold to crack from heat. I have had 2 and replaced 2, lol.

Yep...common problem, I'm on my third at 175k. Fortunately, Autozone honors the lifetime warranty. It's made by Dorman. Soon; I'll buy TorqueMaster headers!
