exhaust question

Well i searched and found nothing pertaining to my question. I just got a flowmaster 50 SUV and am gonna install it tonight. dual 2.25" inlet single 3" outlet. BUT in my infinate wisdom I thought the stock pipe was a 3" outlet as well, but only a 2.25" until after the resonator.

So I was wondering if i run a 90" elbow right out of the muffler and have it come out in front of the rear tire if i would have enough clearance?? looks like it would be right under the leaf springs

Any help or known links to this dilemma?

I had a local shop (Muffler Dave's in Westland) install mine. They made an adapter to adapt it down to the OEM tailpipe. They did the whole install for $50.
