Mildly miffed

I live in New England, rust is natural. Took my primary commuter to get a very minor exhaust leak fixed. Excellent exhaust shop, used them before. Great guys. Of course as usual, you touch one thing and another thing breaks. Ended up needing flex pipes, resonator, and mufflers. Stainless pipes were still good. No big deal.

He asked me do I want factory quiet or a little sound? I said sure, give me a little grumble. Use your best judgment I said. Like 10 steps down from glass packs. We both chucked and he took the vehicle for the afternoon.

Shame there wasn't a try before you buy option.
Maybe there was some unholy unanticipated combination of the resonator and muffler. I don't know. The results were slightly comical.

My otherwise respectable 13 PIU now sounds like a Honda owned by a 17 year old.

On the plus side, at least I don't have an exhaust leak.

When I get back from vacation in a week and a half, I'll be stopping in for another visit.

Yeah, this is why i didnt do one on my 13 3.7. MRT sells a decent axle back and in the videos it sounds pretty good. I’ll be installing it this weekend with my dp. Hope it doesnt sound like a honda 😂

I needed a fix now before I went on vacation. Stuck in the middle of the woods with an exhaust falling off it's not my idea of fun.

I did call the exhaust shop. They totally understood my concern but said I was one of an extremely small minority of people that want to go the other way, quieter.

I guess I'm so spoiled by always having V8s that I can't expect the same dull roar on a V6. They're going to give me a break on putting on the quietest mufflers they have. Hopefully that will tone it down.

Since I don't have the turbo, it's just sound at this point.

Anyone want a pair of instant Honda mufflers? You will be the envy of every high schooler...
