Exhaust Tip Size For A 2005 Ford Explorer

What size bolt-on exhaust tip will fit on a 2005 Explorer tail pipe? Engine is a 4.0 V6. I ordered 2 different tips, both are DC Sports brand. I got a black single tip that fits up to a 2” outer diameter pipe which didn’t work. I also got a chrome double tip with a single input that fits up to a 2.25” outer diameter pipe which did somewhat fit but I couldn’t push it in far enough so it wouldn’t stick out too far. What would be the best option for a bolt-on exhaust tip on my Explorer? Should I get one that fits up to a 2.5” outer diameter stock pipe?

I looked it up and it looks great, but I’m looking for something a little more stylish, like in the pics I’ll attach to this comment. Would a 2.5” bolt-on work on my tail pipe?

I think the exhaust pipe is 2 1/4. So a 2.50 should work, although not perfectly.
