Hey guys,
Could someone talk through the mechanics of a lift for the IFS - torsion bar suspension? What extra bits are needed and what actually happens? Live axles and coils are pretty self expanatory, but IFS and these wacky torsion bars are a little complicated (can you get torsions on a live axle?).
Also, assuming the 4" lift from TM, what will happen to the rear springs? Is it usually the case that all new springs are needed/supplied, or are the existing ones reshackled? Or will there be a spring over arrangement?
If it were spring o/axle, you would just block the springs right? So what will happen to +95's?
Also, will new shocks be needed? I just forked out big bucks on new Koni's and don't want to buy new ones if/when I get the Trailmaster 4". If they are out of their operating range, is it OK to get a shock extension? Or it this not the best way to go?
And after the 4" lift, will 33's fit?
Will they rub?
Will they look cool?
Can I crush other cars?
Will I be more macho?
Will I become a redneck?
Will my palms get hairy?
Will I become more obnoxious?
I hope someone can answer these queries,
BK
