Does anyone have this package on their Explorer? It seems like a nice thing to have for better in-city driving on my daily driver. With a lack of good sites to take my truck offroad in urban Orlando (I dont think Mickey Mouse would appreciate me offroading in the middle of one of his parks), it leaves me to have my Explorer more on the "street" side. (no big loss, i couldnt decide where to go with it anyway, street or dirt)

This suspension looks really nice to me, and I think id like it. But testimonials from the manufacturers website and a dedicated forum like this are totally different. any opintions are appreciated

Let me tell you a story
We ( my wife, son, and I) were driving along minding our own business, about 68-70 mph and an older gentleman who couldn't see well ( driving, not seeing) tried turning onto highway from a side road at the very last minute. We went right, very quickly, and down into a ditch to avoid him, and back on the road again, so quickly that we ended up well in front of him. All 4 tires stayed firmly on the ground. I am so glad I purchased and installed the X spec kit. I truly believe it saved our lives.
I also find that not slowing for corners ( saves on brakes) means not speeding back up (gas mileage), and I think lower wind resistance ( gas mileage )
The install wasn't difficult, about 4 hours in driveway ( I'm pretty slow and all)
I have a bad back also, but the ride is better to me than my wifes car, and that being said, I am very pleased with my purchase.
Be sure to have it aligned to their specs afterward, not factory specs

I had it on mine till I wrecked... worth its weight in gold. I still have the front bar for sale. Let me know if you're interested.

I had the full package on my '88 for a while, thought I like it, however, the ride was so harsh that it had to go. I raised it back to stock height, got rid of the Edlebrock shocks ( replaced with Rancho 9000x ) and all was fine.

The sway bar is worth its weight in gold.

I did not notice any real difference in handling after raising it. I think the sway bar is the stellar component.

The concept of the package is 100% on point. EE's price is not.

You can find all the components seperately for far far less, except the swaybars. Pick the two bars from EE($280), then grab lowering blocks (1.5")from Steedatruck.com($40). The camber adjusters from ebay($40). You come out ahead a couple hundred dollars. Since you'd only be lowering slightly, your shocks should still do you good for a whlie

Agreed, I like all of the X-Spec kit, but I have had it on since the beginning. I am considering buying Bilstein shocks, as others have recommended. Good luck,
