Explorer Long Travel Kits

What will be tire size with the kit ? Also will the torsion bars be retained or ditch in favor of a coil over system? Very interested in the kit for my 97sport let me know if you need someone for R&D.

Thanks, that was pretty cool to be featured on TV... They did a really good job of showing what Off-Road racing is all about.

The only classes that this suspension would fit into would be 'Sportsman' Truck or maybe Class 7 Open... I would have to check the width. And with that being said, Class 7 Open is a open class with open rules Re: suspension pivots and geometry. Really crazy ($$$) stuff.

DBR-Edge if you could figure that out and get in touch with me cause I would like to figure out how to set my truck up to come racing next season. Right now it is a stock 97 explorer sport but I am building an egine and transmission and would like to hold off to know the rules and class etc so I know what I can and cannot do. Email me if you get a chance. Adam

This may sound stupid, but what does shocks have to do with the lift? Does it add anymore lift to a tt and rear shackles? I've notice I have a bad shock on one driver side of the rear that causes a pretty noticeable lean.

WOW....this thread is almost 10 years old....!!! lmaooo

anyway....your drivers side rear shock IS NOT causing the lean.
shock will absolutely NOT give you any lift, the dixbros shock
is a coilover, which is the same as the 3rd gen Xs.

with the dixbros suspension, you would be 86ing the torsion set-up.

a flattend out leaf spring is whats causing your driver side gangsta lean.

:salute:

Back from the dead. Unless you have a large body nitrogen filled shock its not the shock that is causing the lean, as stated above. You could have an extremely worn or torsion as well.

With the coilover shock you must run on this kit you can adjust your ride height to that of you specific liking with the pre load collar

anyone have this kit? Really thinking about getting it in the future.

Sorry to open up such an old thrad but I wanted to let everyone know we have taken over for Dixon Bros Racing and will be producing all their kits. Let me know if you have any questions.
