Explorer message center interchangeability

How specific are the message center units in the Explorers? I have a 95 XLT Limited that could use a new one, and I was wondering in what years and models Ford used that same unit so that I can find a correct replacement.

95 needs a 95-97, I have three, two on ebay right now and one I held back for private sale, no buyer yet

the vehicle speed sensor was different as well as he color of the lights

but the message centers were available all the way up to 2001

My 95 xlt stock did not come with one. If it is possible, do you know what would take to add a message center console?
