Looking through google maps and their new satellite imagery... found my Explorer parked infront of my house. According to Keyhole.com (Google bought them a few months back, so I'm assuming that is where they got the images from) Pictures of Northern VA were taken in July 2001, which is a couple months after I got my explorer.

It's exactly where I park, it's white and we have the only driveway on that part of the street since it's a dead end.

Anyways, I just thought it was neat. Makes me sad I dont have my explorer anymore though =(

That program is amazing, but they don't have very many areas outside of the really major cities.

They don't have very high res maps for those of us out here in East Bumfu*k. I can only get to about 4 steps from the highest resolution until it tells me "sorry loser, you live in an area we don't care about :D

This will not be around for long, a couple of sites I know of are unauthorized to have satellite photos taken of them, even on the old terra satellite and mapquest they were just blacked out when you got to these sites. But on the google site, these Top Secret sites show up. Wonder how long they will be up.

What are some of these "Top Secret" sites so we can all check them out before they get taken down?

The closest I can get to home is a cartoon like drawing of the map. :(

Well....thats a satellite pic, thanks. The closest I can get is the bypass (4 lane divided highway-near my home) to be almost in focus enough to tell its a road. Forget my neighborhood. I live too far from nowhere.

Pat, let the poor explorer die. It was already living a slow and painful death brought by the never ending ghetto "mods" you were doing to it. This world (and our fraternity's house parking lot) is a better place without it

That is all,

-Brett

I don't know the address to the site, i kind of follow the roads becuase i know where it is from my house. A few of the sites i'm talking about are the delta force compound, Joint special operations command also my boss said that our site we work at should'nt be on there either but who knows.

From a different service but...

Yellow is my house
Blue is the closest Atlantic ocean beach access to me (I run the 3.6 miles from my house)
Red is where I kayak (Folly Beach to the south and Isle of Palms to the north)
