Explorer/Mountaineer? First post

Hey everyone, actually posting after stalking through the forums for a while now.

I recently picked up a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer and was wondering if anyone knew if the frame and suspension setup for a 2000 Mountaineer and a 2000 Explorer were the same. It's a daily right now but I plan on lifting it and putting a solid front axle on it. Basically all i'm asking is can I just order parts for an explorer and have them work on the mountaineer if i can't find something for a mountaineer? Thanks.

Yes, you can use parts listed for explorers.

The obvious differences though are the Roof rack, grill and headlights. Mountaineer uses a different header panel also. Other than that, suspension wise they are identical.
