Explorer sport 9006/9012 upgrade

Has anyone upgraded their 9006 bulb in the explorer sport to the 9012? How were your results? Did you try piaa or any performance brands? I have aux LED lights but want more light on headlights

According to your Manual, the headlights are HB3 which equates to a 9005 bulb. There is a thread on 9005 vs 9011 but nothing on your question.
