Explorer Stance?

Hey guys,

I love my '98 Sport, but I hate that the wheels (especially in the rear) are tucked in sooo far, there is just too mich fender!

I would've liked to use the stock wheels but I've heard spacers are not safe and it's better off using a rim with a higher offset.

ok, so what is the offset on a stock rim?

and let's say I was gonna get some American Racing Rims and some BFG's

What rim size/offset should i be looking for?

I really don't want them to stick out, just enough to make her look normal (stance wise) I think the stock setup makes "her" look like she's got a big ass, and all fender.

thanks
Tonedog

PS any pics would be great!

Yeah!! I like that stance, it's hot, except it might be alittle aggressive for me, maybe w/o the lifts and the stance alittle further in. (not outside the fender) would be cool!

Thanks for the pic,

Your ex looks tough:)

well, those wheels are 15x10 american racing tailgunners if it helps ya, maybe something with the offset in a 15x8 would be good for ya

88vert, thanks :-)

cool thanks

Also, what are stock rim sizes on '98 sports??

Thx
ToneDog

ok i did a search and found out that 15x7 is the stock rim size.

so, what if I get 15x8 and put my Michelin 255's on them would it work, or do i need a bigger tire for the 15x8's?

I like the size of the tires i have just want to fill in alittle more (wheel well/fender) but I would go wider if i needed to.

Thx
Tonedog

should work, your stock rim is probably 7 but see what michelin says, they will give width the tire will fit, check their website

98 sports u can get 15 or 16 inch rims, not sure of the width of a 15 but my stock 16s are 7 inches wide, want my old rims and tires? they are for sale, :-)
