i'm thinkign about doing this this summer. any of y'all that have done it, have any pointers? i'd also like to take the rear glass, and make a new rear panel for it to sit in, and rig it like a limo partition, so i can have all the windows down or up while driving. anybody have any pointers?

I think some of the Nissan Pathfinders from the late 80's or so had roll-down hatch windows... you might try to find a tailgate from one of those and modify it to fit where you need it... likely the simplest way of doing the roll-down rear window...

Don't they make eletric rear wimndow kits for mini trucks?

I think I will do something like this down the road. only keep the rear top, and lose the back door completly.

Yeah, it was the 4-Runners... I was confused for a bit because I remembered that the backs came off of the 88-91 ones (or some of those years)... I couldn't remember if the glass was part of the top or not. But yeah, I think that would be the best bet... you wouldn't have to try to create a rear part out of scratch, and it would have the window included.

thanks. i'm really thinking that this summer i'll go through with it. i've spoken to a couple of buddies who drive blazers and such, and they seem to like the idea. i'm thinking about doing a writeup as i go along. help other people that want to do it as well.

we've also got all the logistics planned out to, where to cut, where to weld, how to close it up again. thank god for friend that are welders

Any way hinges from a ranger can do the same ?
