2006 Explorer XLT
I have a 2006 Explorer XLT that has problems when slowly accelerating. The vehicle surges. The surges are not dramatic. Its similar to me slowly pushing on the accerator then backing off several times. I notice the tach is wavering also. The local Ford service department tells me that it is caused by the "drive by wire" and that is to be expected. I don't buy it. Anyone else have this problem?

i will get that at times, when on the throttle too much and big brother steps in (TCS) and the traction could be less than "it" thinks.....

normally, i do not get that surge... this is the v8 6spd.

Happens to me sometimes.

It happens to my v6 xls also, it is the drive by wire system.

My '07 EB V-6 does it also. It seems that the throttle backs off heavily at the upshifts, even at light throttle application.

Guys I can remove the "big brother " in the system with the ExCal2/custom tuning. Contact if intersted.
