Extended upper control arms and uni balls

i found a shop that builds high strength extended axles. they can extend em up to 6 inches and still handle up to 900hp on em. they also make them so you can run them at extreme angles so i really dont think my truck would break them

Probably more than that. Im into mine for about 7 grand, and it's not even close to being done.....

What are you guys doing for fenders on these???? Im not sure what's out there for the 3rd gens..

there really isnt any fender flare available for us except the universal ones. im not worried in PA your tires can stick out 3 inches from the fender if you dont have any fender flares and 2.5 inches past if you have fender flares. hell my 20x9 inch wheels stick out about 2.5 inches and havnt gotten my balls busted. so the cops must really go by it

carlover you counting lockers, tires, and all that stuff or no?

What exactly are you going to do?? Coilvers?? Are you going with wider arms front and rear??? my estimate for LT front and rear would be

Coilovers with coils $2500.
Upper and lower control arms $3500-4000
Spindles front and rear $1500
Custom Cv's front and rear $2000
Plus a ton of little odds and ends such as hardware, limit straps, brake lines, and a whole **** load of other parts.

And thats just sticking with the IRS. My advice for the rear would be a solid axle swap to a 9" and do a 4 link setup with cantilever coilovers. That would be sweet.

To get the front and rear capable of hitting the dezert with LT front and rear your looking in the $20k to $30k range. And carlover asked what your going to do about fenders because your tires are going to smash the crap out of your stock ones if you actually use the LT setup, and currently no one makes fiberglass fenders for the 3rd Gen.

My advice would be to buy a 93-97 ranger for a $1,000 and put $10,000 into it and it would prob. be pretty close to race capable if you shop around and find deals on used stuff. Use you 3rd Gen to tow it and as a DD because your going to be screwed WHEN not if you break it. The money you saved could go to a down payment on a house. Thats just my $0.02 though because I have already been down this road, spent lots of money LT my old truck and when it would break I was screwed and had no way to get to work. But as long as your pockets are really deep than I say go for it.

im figuring around
2000 front and rear aarms
1700 actual price for fox racing shock for the lift with coils front/rear
2000 for front and rear sets cvs
1000 all 4 spindles
then little stuff(new wheel bearings $300,etc.)

im not too worried about daily driver cuz i have a work truck and van i can drive while my mountaineer is down. plus i have my cbr for personal use. i already have my townhouse so im not too worried about that. haha im gonna go for it and it shoudl be a good learning experience

So no coilovers, just lift coils and fox shocks??

2000 for extended upper and lower a-arms?? i paid $1850 for just my front ones on my kit and that's dirt dirt cheap.

Yah I worked for the fab shop I got my front end for and it was $2500(reg. $4500) with no coilovers. The front I gurantee will be around $4000 with no coilovers. Dont forget you need an engine cage to mount the coilovers and if you four link the rear I would highly suggest a full cage since your going to have to cut a lot of your rear frame. Plus there is still all the hidden expenses and thing you will have to upgrade. I am very confident you will be in the $20k plus range. And if you are doing all this work do you really want cast spindels that are known to break. A pair of fabricated spindels will be in the $1500 range per pair.

i will tackle this task

i have a guy in my unit that deploying with me. he builds race chassis and suspension setups for many vehicles he want to take a look at my truck. i showed him our plans and he said if i am his b*t*h while we are moding my truck he will do it for cost of supplies and a few cases of beer. i cant believe some of his work its amazing. i gotta get pics of his mud racer on here. its a old ranger body on a full tube chassis

after this deployment ill have just about 37xxx in the bank after bills and crap so ill get mine done.

damn I need to join the army. I fricking work two jobs and barelly have enough for bills and rent and food and the little bit I have left over goes to help my dad with rent since he got layed off his job. This economy blows
