Factory CD changer harness question

I have read many threads on the 'often discussed' topic on factory CD changers and if they will work in cars not equipped from factory with the changers.

I understand they will.

I just bought a '97 XLT with the premium (not JBL) AM/FM cassette with CD changer controls in the head unit, but no changer inthe console. A friend of mine gave me his 6 disk changer but there is no wire harness in my car. If what I read is true, the factory harness is very difficult to remove (from my firends car) as it is within a mass wire loom.

I have seen it mentioned that ther is a 'changer only' harness one can "buy on the internet" but I have not seen where I can buy it. Is there a classified ad section on this forum? Shoud I just check Ebay?

i just bought the harness a few months ago. call them and just tell them what you need. i dont think i have the premium sound, so harness might be different. super easy to install though, and sounds so much better then the radio.

Actually if you'd have just used the search function in the first place there are already several threads about this and you could have answered the question for yourself... Please whenever you're looking for something on this board try and use the search function before asking your question. Many questions can be easily answered by using it.

you'll probably have to call 'them' though, cause they didnt have the hanress i needed listed on there website.

Thank you but I did read the older threads. There are a whole bunch of them but I still could not narrow down the search well enough. I f you actually read my entire thread, it explains that I did use the search function, found what I even named an "often discussed" topic, but still had a question. I do appreciate you helping me find the asnwer.
