FAKRWEE Navajo 44 swap

My new front end got in today. It's a custom Dynatrac 44 front axle assembly.

List of goodies include:
Reverse cut housing upgrade
Warn premium manual locking hub set
30 spline 3/4 ton alloy steel axles
Upgraded Disc brake Ass. 5.5.5
Ford coil spring bracketry
5:13 gears-reverse cut
ARB 3.92+ ver.
1310 dana 44 u-bolt style yoke
Heavy duty ends package
Heavy duty steel dif. cover
High clearance steering package
Width= 62 in.

I saved my pennies for quite awhile to be able to afford it but she's a beauty. I almost feel like not installing it.

I hope the pictures come out my battery started going dead.

The installer is fourxDr. in Burbank and Winter's designing the radius arms. We know they will be wristed but will not have pin's like bc broncos. I'll include pictures as we go along. Today they took apart the front end. I'm hoping the job will take about a month.:bounce:

Rick, just to educate those of us that have IFS and don't bother ramping our trucks, what does your Pumpkin ramp at?
And can you give me any basic info about RTI(correct acronym?) ramps?

Thanks,
John (solid axle challenged)

Rick.
Yea we''ll have a booth a TDS again. Stop by. Do you guys do night runs. We go out friday and saturday nights. We get in pretty late, so I dont know if you guys can keep up? LOL. Maybe you guys can hook up and go with us. The RTI ramp just gives you a idea how it will work. Its not real world. Real world is more. So, I bet I'm the only guy here that has a jeep, LOL. I think it would look cool if my jeep was in the center of your rigs for the picture, What do you think. LOL.
Mike.

Ok, I found an answer to one of my questions. It was posted by Leebo back on 9/22/2000:
RTI: A test that figures out the amount of "flex" a suspension has. It is done by driving a truck up a 20degree ramp till one of the wheels is lifted. The amount a truck traveled up the ramp is then divided by the length of the wheelbase and multiplied by 1000 for the final score. A 24degree ramp is used for extremely modified trucks just for some fun.

But now they use 30 degree ramps for the "extreme" trucks...

Mike, we sure do go on night runs. :D That's the best part of Thaven... doing the ditches at night :D

Good thing you checked your spelling before you posted Rick, could have been a bad one with a B instead of a D!! :D

Happy trails!!

Hi guy's. I'm back from a 2 week vacation. Thanks Doc for the update. I'll post some pictures soon.

Hey Fakrwee,

Excellent build-up post and sweet setup. You have given me ideas that I needed for my setup. I am currently doing the same thing as you to my '97 Ranger, and was looking for track bar mounts and routing locations, and yours fit my setup.

Tell me what you did or how you braced the engine crossmember, as this is a MAJOR clearance issue that I am currently struggling with. Does your track bar hit the crossmember at full stuff?

Thanks, and great pics.
Dean

Well finally got some time to sit down and post some pics. These pics are from 2 weeks ago before I went on vacation. Tomorrow I'm going to the shop and I'll post some on the ramp.

Some of the major changes down since my last post are.
1-Relocated battery to bottom of rig.
2-Relocated ARB compressor to battery side
3-Installed new miniture windshield water and radiator overflow bottles.
4-Cutout inner fenders for full stuff with the 37's.
5-Installed ram
6-Did adjustments to the brake lines on master cylinder.

Here are the pics. 1st one is King Shock installed with hoop into engine compartment.
