Fan Clutch ?

When the truck is first started up (cold), the fan roars like crazy and continues until I have driven about a block then it stops. Does this sometimes when the engine is warm as well. I know the fan cycles on and off to cool the motor however is it supposed to come on when the vehicle is first started up and cold ?

Mine does the same thing. I like to believe that this is normal, as it started doing this after I replaced my old fan clutch(was blowing like crazy no matter what).

Same here, mine is new with a new blade, is loud as hell when first accelerating.

Are you sure that's the fan and not the IAC valve doing it's normal thing?
