fan only works on high

We have a 98 ranger that the fan only works when on high. Is the switch or resistor typically at fault?

Its the resistor. When the fan is on MAX, the resistor is bypassed.

An easy fix.
 












When I did the blower resister on my 2000 Ranger I got the resister with the wire pigtail & good thing I did the connector was rusted to the resister.
 






Thanks I'll try to pull it off before going to the parts store.
