Just got 4wd working! no 4wd high or 4wd low lights replaced under panel on passenger side $227 it works!!!! But went on the road in 4wd high and it feels like brakes are draging in 4wd low howling and growling. I'm going to check, replace all fluids with (lucas oil products) and repost!

Don't know if you have other issues going on, but don't drive on the road in 4x4 high unless the road is snow covered or you are in muddy conditions (not on dry pavement) and do not drive it down the road at all in 4x4 low at road speeds. 4x4 low should only be used when completely stuck, bogged down in mud or snow. 4x4 high is for driving at road speeds, but snow or mud covered roads.

You're probably winding up the drivetrain. As stated above you can only use 4Hi when tires do not have direct contact with pavement. The front and rear will never spin at exactly the same speed in 4wd. This is not a problem when the tires can slip a little bit to compensate (such as on snow, dirt, etc.) but when the tires are on pavement the speed difference between front and rear will cause binding in the drivetrain which is probably why it feels like the brakes are on.

feel like the brakes are on

Seems to be fine bought Royal Purple for diff and Amsoil for transfer case! Make sure it's out of 4WD when leaving the mud sounds fine. Thanks!
