Filling a 5R55S

Going to be swapping a rebuilt 5R55S transmission into my 2003 Explorer 2wd tomorrow. I know I can pour fluid into the speed sensor hole before I install, but how much? Is it ok to pour ~10 quarts in, start it up and add the remaining 2 or so? Or is that too much and it's going to blow a seal or something?

You can fill it that way but the converter only fills when running and putting in 10 quarts with out it running is too much.
