Find the paint code

Can you get a paint code off the windshield VIN alone? (I know you can get it off the door). The reason I ask is because the junkyard posts the VIN numbers on their website. I need a hood and fenders, but don't want to drive the 65 miles to the 'yard and find out they don't have the right color. 1999 Explorer XLT. Thanks
