Just wondering who makes ram air kits for the x? I know we can fab one up, but im sure someone produces one. If it was thru the hood that would be perfect.

There are no hood scoop (or otherwise) ram-air kits for the Explorer. Sorry. Like you said, you can adapt other stuff or make your own, but no off the shelf kits.

dont double post xfreak... it gets confusing
do a search for Bobby Locs
he made custom scoops and has directions with pictures on how to do it. If you want to take it one step further u can make some sort of ram air work.

A while back there was a company called "Banshee" that made a functional hood scoop that fed an air box with a conical filter. It was originally designed for Rangers, but they were supposed to be adaptable to the Explorers, and they were considering a kit especially for them. I will look into my files and see if I can get you the particulars, or you could do a search for "Banshee" on this forum. It was only a few months ago, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Heck yeah it does it seems even though for the longest time the explorer was the most popular SUV in America there isn't crap for it. Well body wise like hood scoops. Blazer's even have hood scoops what the crap.
