First accident.

Two nights ago I was with my sister on our way to go get oil for her car. It was about 9:00, it just started to littlely rain. The road gots really slick. I came to a stop at a red light in a local intersection. When to my suprise a felt a thud and looked in my rearview mirror and saw a woman on her cell phone sitting on my A$$. After short moment of calling her everyname in the book. She came over to my window and said that her van just wouldn't stop and that she was really sorry, and asked if we wanted to pull over, I looked over at my sister(I didn't know what to do) so we told her yes. She was only going about 2mph or so. It wasnt a hard bump but I could feel it. The woman was really nice. There was no damaged to my bumper or her bumper. She had a 94ish dodge carivan the square box one. Our bumpers are at about the same height so they met pretty evenly. We did end up calling the police because we didn't feel it was necessary, since there was no damage and no one was hurt. I only have my permit so I dont know if the 6 month clock would have been reset or not if we did call the police. I get my license in about 2 weeks, so that would suck big time.

Since there are no damages, it is best not to have the insurance company know about this little fender bender. Police report is a must though, no matter what, just to protect everyone from being accused of hit and run months from now.

yah you should always call the police just incase that woman wasn't as nice as you thought and she was getting your licence plate number before she came up to you ... you are the one that files insurance, etc and as long as the ticket was not your fault and obviously she hit you - your time wouldn't be "restarted" or anything like that .. here you just wouldnt get your licence until you were like 18 ...

in houston, if the damage looks like it is less than $500 no police report is neccassary. vans and trucks are the only thing that can hurt you if they rearend ya. cars just slide under, you reach back and wipe their paint off your tailer hitch and they have to call a wrecker. ive been rearended by some infiniti and a ford escort with no damage to me . explorers are much more durable than them little cars

I remember going to the DMV and picking up my license, and my mom was like "you wanna drive home" and I said no cuz I had a wierd feeling. Sure as $h!t on the way home a geo metro rear ended us. It totalled the metro and only pushed the bumper on my car in about a 1/4 inch. I had a '86 cheby celebrity, thing was a beast. Especially liked to hit garbage cans
