Morning all,

I have put a lot of effort and cash into my 94 Explorer and got a lot of issues resolved with other people helping. I am trying to yeach myself how you work on him myself. So I have some questions about parts.

1.Power window motors D/S front and rear.

2.What can I do for my rear P/S door, it will not open from the outside, only inside.

3.My interior weather lining for the back window has begun to fall off and will not stay up, this rain gets in.

4.I want to get rid of the rust on the outside and re-paint him.

I have tons of others but these are most pressing before winter.

1: You need to find out if the motor is really bad or if it's something with the big window switch the driver has. Disconnect the plug from the window motor and then put 12v and ground to it. One way will make it go up, the other way makes it go down. If it moves when you jump power/ground to the window motor then it's more likely a bad switch at the driver. You know, the one that lets the driver have full control over the windows (up/down and lockout).

2: My guess is the door handle itself or the plastic that connects the door handle bar broke. Here's a thread with info about working on the door handle. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums...vers-exterior-door-handle-replacement.165081/ I actually found the little yellow plastic pieces at Oreilly Auto parts.. IIRC it was a "kit" in the help section with parts for Ford/Chevy and others..

3: Mine droops too. You can get some 3m window seal adhesive to hold it up. It's stiff and nasty but works...

4: No idea about rust.. I'm in Az and don't have to deal with that.. Although I have some on my van that one of these days I'll need to learn how to fix..
