ive got a 99 explorer xl and both 4x4 lights are blinking.when the truck is first started both lights blink 6 times then it flashes again at precisley 2 min.intervals.last week it engaged the 4wd while the switch was in auto position. i took the abs sensor ,transfer case sensor and also the one in the tranny and cleaned them and it hasent engaged 4 wd on its own since,however the lights still blink.the switch on the dash dosent seem like it will switch ranges when turned and i dosent light up the other ranges.
the next problem is when we make a left hand turn a metallic squeal is heard from the area of the left rear wheel.i pulled the wheel to inspect the brakes and all was good there.please help its my wifes daily driver and she is driving me nuts
