Hello everyone. I am so stressed over my 02 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4WD
V6.
I will start by saying I have replaced the Alternator in April, paid for new front and back breaks in March and now all of a sudden my OD off light came on(flashing) along with the service transmission message, next was the check engine light. The check Engine light stays on and doesnt flash. Then my Door ajar would come on and off every other day, then the ABS light stays on.
Okay so right when the OD light off came on I took it for a diagnostic. I was told it was the Solenoid. They didnt give me a code, and didnt tell me which Solenoid.
After doing research I learned that there were codes ,and more then one Solenoid lol
So the other day I decided to take my SUV to get an oil change. My car sounded fine before the oil change. But after the oil change while driving it, it sounded loud and like it was going to fall apart. I made it home, the 20 min drive.
Later that evening I started to drive to work, it still sounded horrible and I was a bit afraid to drive, then all of a sudden my steering went a bit nuts. I couldnt control it well to go straight, it kept going side to side like the steering went out?
So I made it to a convienece store and called a tow truck. I still havent had it looked at because for one, I dont have the money to get it fixed till next week.
Does anyone have a clue to what may be wrong? A new Transmission? The mileage is at 118,000 and I am 2nd owner, I have had it fo almost 4 years now.
I also forgot to add, that after awhile I had issues with it shifting from 1st to 2nd. I would have to let up on the accelerator at about 20mph for it to shift. It shifted in every other gear just fine.

Thanks for any comments, they are much appreciated because I dont know much about cars.

WOW, and after that said, the first thing in my opinion is you should have the power steering and the engine problems fixed. After that the transmission can be checked.

Thanks for your reply. There are no engine problems. The engine check light came on because of the Solenoid sensor. I was told it was normal for it to start flashing different codes. My main concern is the steering. But its being looked at as of today. Hopefully it wont cost an arm and a leg.
