What is the difference between the SUPER 40 series and just the 40 series. I mean I would imagine a bit louder but has anyone had both or can help me out here? Im looking into getting true duals for my 5.0 and I know most people say 3 inch is too big so i was going to do 2.5", but I cant decide on a muffler.

So can anyone tell me the difference between those two?

Go read Flowmaster's website it gives you all the answers about both mufflers right there.

3" is ideal for a 5.0. 3 inch is too big for 4.0. The Super 40 has a deeper tone and is painted black to help prevent rust.

so 3" duals would be good for the 5.0?

Not sure about dual, I know single 3" is good.

3" duals might be too much freeflowing for the 5.0l

Yeah thats what i figured, I was gonna go with the 2.5", but im not sure yet because i might be doing quite a bit of engine work in the not too distant future and i dont want to have to swap out for a larger pipe...
