Fog light bulbs

I have a 01 Explorer Sport and I want to upgrade the OEM fog light bulbs with a brighter bulb. I dont know what bulb type to get.(H1, H2, H3) Anyone know what bulb to buy and where can I get them?

I have yellow fogs on my 01 sport. I just put yellow window film over my stock fog lights and now my fogs are yellow.

I don't got any pics of them on at night yet. But eventually I will take some so I can show you guys.

i just stuck yellow h1 bulbs in my stock set up, why use film? That sounds like it would drown some of the color

I wud say the brightest would be a h3 bulb set up. On my old truck, I bought a pair of h1 fog lights from pep boys and replaced stock..it was a lot brighter

yea, i got 6000k HIDs... i'll try and get some night pics, the road is a nice violet/white at night, very easy on my eyes, i highly recommend my HID kit...

So the 01 explorer sport uses H1 bulbs.. I thought they use H3?

i believe the 01 sports use 9005's for their foglight bulbs

'01+ sports use 9145 bulbs. You can modify 9005 bulbs to fit though.

hmm.. how hard would it be to modify 9005 bulbs to fit? Because I want to put PIAA bulbs in the stock fog enclosure, but unfortunatly PIAA doesnt make 9145(H10) bulbs.

Hello All, Coundn't find this in the search so sorry if this has been covered. Can I install Piaa 9005 60w Xtreme White + bulbs in my fogs? Im concerned with putting too hi of a watt bulb in. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thats what I'm planning on doing as well. Im still not entirely sure on how to do it. Does anyone know if I'm going to need to change the wire to a thicker gauge wire, or anything like that?

specR0 Well I installed mine with no wire upgrade. I kept an eye on them for an hour or so after the install while they were on. They do get a little hotter then the stock bulbs but I didn't see any problems that might arise. Hope this helps

I finally installed the PIAA Xtreme White Plus in both my headlights and fog lights. Really happy w/ the results. Heres a pic.
