Fog Lights 02 ExplorerXLT

Hey guys hows it going.

This afternoon I installed a set of fog lights in my 02 explorer and proceeded to wire them up. I put a set of 55W 6000K HIDs in and ran wires like i did for my Hella 500s. I got everything all wired up but the battery terminals and all back and flip the switch, and nothing. My low beams and driving lights work, but no fogs. Im kind of at a loss for what it is. If anyone can provide some insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

No it did not. I went to a junkyard got a set of fog lamps for 60 bucks. Then ordered the grilles for the lamps on ebay for like 20 bucks each or so, ordered bulbs and ran wires.

Are you trying to use the factory light switch that turns on the fog lights, or are you using a separate switch?

Separate switch.

if you are using hids try switching the polarity on the ballast. Also do you have a relay? If you dont ur going to need one.

Yeah I have a relay and I tried switching the polarities.

are you sure the hid kit you have works, did you try it on another vehicle? this happened to me once or twice and one time it was my fog light fuse that kept blowing i fixed by putting bigger fuse in it.

I swapped the bulb socket and reversed the polarities and it worked, so thanks for the help!

Check out this seller on eBay: http://stores.ebay.com/AUTOSDEPO-LLC

They sell the stuff to install factory fogs on an Ex that didn't come with them. You just need to wire them up.

My Ex was already damaged when I bought it in Feb '10. The only thing I've done as far as fog lights goes is to add some cheap Walmart ones:

When the weather gets better I plan on getting this setup from eBay:

My Ex never had fog lights from the factory, so when I install the ones I get from eBay I'll use the switch and wiring that I already installed for the Walmart fogs.

Hope this helps out! :biggthump
