Check out this link to some pictures of some modified rad arms. They are on a full size Bronco SAS "Bronkzilla".

No twist?

edit: ignore me..........took a sec to see what I was really looking at.....................need a minute to capture my thoughts :D

UMMMMM..... ;)

Giving me ideas sence I still have to build my SAS.

Speaking of which has anyone seen Dave? I noticed he hasn't been on here in over a month. :(

I do believe that's the guy that totally destroyed the radius arms in Old Sluice on the Rubicon.

Interesting concept, I wonder how it handles at speed?

Exactly what I was wondering.

Stic-o- I was also curious about Dave.

I'd think that you would get too much play in the 'stock' bushings by having that pivot before it. A johny joint instead of all that would be much simpler, and still work the same.

Why not skip the ford radius arm concept al together? Wouldn't it be just as easy to use a Jeep kit with long travel radius arms? (CoughtJefecough)

I mean I know I could take the D44 off a EB and stuff it under my truck in a weekend, because it is basically made for my frame and steering, but if you want long travel and know you will end up changing the setup again, why not just get a long arm Jeep kit (or similar) that is proven to flex like mad and fit it to the frame?

Or just wrist one arm and call it a night :)

Yeah, I have seen this. He does beat the hell out of that thing and they appear to be holding up.
Someone should email him and ask about handling, etc.

He did that, and it broke on him..

Wristing one arm is not the answer. It puts alot of stress on other parts.

You have to take special care when wristing an arm. The non-wristed arm has to be super duper beefed. Also the pivot for the "wrist" needs to be something substantial.

Dave resufaced and PM'ed me.

Guess what I'm getting! :D :bounce:

I'm lost are you getting Dave's old SAS setup?

Spill it! His old tires? A cage? What!?! :D

I'm guessing that Dave finally got his HP D44 ready and is going to give the current set up to Stic. I think that's what it meant.

I also think that Matt has Dave's old tires (35" X-Terrains).

Nope your all wrong! I'm getting Dave's HP D44 :D

He says he's going to stick with what he's got and try to get it work right.

I just noticed JD has 5.5" Proggrssive coils now too :D

Unfortunately I probally will not start on the project till April though.
