Has Ford ever made a modified Explorer that had the design of something you would see in Baja Mexico and or California? I'm a fan of ocean designs like the sort and I know Subaru has made a car named the Baja itself. Other than that, there is nothing of the sort that I haven't seen much of.

Unfortunately no. the closest they ever came up with was a concept vehicle called the EX. The concept was introduced in 2001.

I have two questions. 410 did you take these pictures? And Rick was that a custom paint job?

no I did not take those pictures I googled them
Yes Ricks truck was originally green :)

Look up the Rough Riders. Ford backed them in desert racing in the early 90s. They raced Rangers, F150s, and an Explorer in different classes. The John Swift Explorer is still around and was raced in the Norra 1000 in Mexico I think last year or the year before. Not exactly what you were looking for but probably the closest thing.

That's pretty neat that you bring that up. I cant even image a ranger let alone explorer in rally. its mind blowing.

When I flopped my Explorer on the right side and had it repainted, I almost copied that color scheme. The guy who painted it said it would be the same price. I wimped out and went with OEM white.

rangers and explorers have been dominating the desert scene since the 80's
Simply because ford used the TTB front suspension which works very very well off road.........
everyone else has been playing catch up
