I was watching Powerblock's new 'Search and Restore' today and was surprised when the fella from 'Horsepower' - one of PB's oldest shows - stated that Ford was 'phasing out' the 347 stroker in preference to the newer 363 based on the 302 block. Any news on this? How long before we can see an Explorer 363 swap? ;)

it is not purposly being phased out, although it is getting more common than the 347

I don't think "Ford" made a 347. The aftermarket made it from a Ford block. So how could Ford phase it out?

Ford makes "A" 347, but there are aftermarket cranks available, so they can phase out their 347, just not all of them.

Thinks Jon wants to buy another 5.0 Explorer or mounty, break the engine so you have to install that 363 your dying to try out :D

When I said sense, I meant cents($).

BTW Is it cool or un-cool to quote yourself for explanatory reasons, 'cause IDK?

:D

You could just hit the edit button and clarify it in your original post.
