Ford Motorcraft Part# request

The metal screen is easy to clean, it needs that every 10 years maybe. The grommet should fit most all PCV's if you need to use a different one. Jaime is right too, you can RTV the grommet in place if needed. A new one will fit fairly tight while a used one will come out easily. Ultra Black should hold it all together really tight, you might be prying it out the next time.

Don - replaced with Motorcraft EV-127-A for Thunderbird I think turbocoupe which is a one way valve and this problem is fully solved. Didn’t notice that there is no metal screen in my intake and there wasn’t one in there. Spoke to the people at the Ford parts counter and they said there was no metal screen on their diagram as well. Since I have a 2000 was this some sort of running change or am I missing something that I should install? Anyway just seems to have solved my problem with that but now my transmission is probably dying. I have another thread on that.

Just happen to be standing next to 5.0 with the lower intake exposed
This is a 98 engine it has the screen

That's a very good picture of it, the screen is just to reduce the amount of oil that is sucked out of the lifter valley. It's to try to catch the oil coming from the crankcase, and have it collect on it, to drain back down.

It's a good idea and that's what is needed by people with turbo's and running catch cans to catch oil out of the PCV system. Something that catches the oil but returns it to the engine, is the ideal, a catch can collects it outside the engine, so the oil is lost from the engine.

I used This method in my oil separator works great

We didn't see this inside of my intake. Is there a part number for this screen on a 2000 5.0? Curious as to why it was not there?

That screen is about the same depth as the diameter, it just drops down into that hole. All roller 302's and 351's probably came with it. I recall it on my 91 302 HO I rebuilt, and I've seen it in other 302 intakes.
