Ford recall 09S09...Speed Control Deactivation

I have taken my 2002 Ford Exploer in for the the 09S09 recall. Prior to taking it in the Cruise Control was working.
When the Ford Dealer returned the car the Speed Control did not engage. I was told that any work they completed would not effect the control.They have refused to get it back to a working condition.
Are there any thoughts to my belief that as a result of the faulty unit over time my control was damaged and that I should have had the unit fixed or replaced in conjunction with Ford Policy.
Any tecnical explanation to help my case would be appreciated.

Original Repair:Install Universal Fused Jumper Harness..
1 8w7z8*14A411*C WIRE ASY
The current switch is orange.
The dealer contends that the unit was not leaking externally.
My contention is that the unit could have been defective but not leaking externally.... BUT was leaking internally and cauing corrosion causing faulty electronic spikes that has effected the units ability to engage.
Maybe not an occourence that happens regularly but a very good possibility that has not been understood by the a Ford Dealer technition.

Dealer replaced the recalled harness and said this? Also, the double fused replacement part number is close, but not exact. :scratch:

Curious on this. Have the same issue on my '01 Super Duty. Cruise will not engage, and my thought is it due to the recalled switch on the Master.

I am thinking that with in Ford's Servive Group this issue has not been very well documented and has affected
100's of Ford customers and needs to be addresed by Ford Motor Company.
