Ford tape deck no workie..AM/FM/CD changer are fine?

I recently purchased a used 97 X with the Factory tape deck that controls the CD Changer in the console.
The tape section of the deck worked for 3x fine, but now when I put a tape in it comes thru 2 channels on the left side only??

But the CD Changer and Am/Fm come thru all for channels FINE?

Any ideas?

Id love for everything to work correctly if theres something I can do, but seeing as we dont have enough $$ for a new aftermarket deck, we need this one to work w/o replacing it for the time being..

So, the tape works on 1 channel, but the radio and CD work on both ??
Obviously not the amp or speakers - probably the tape head is dirty or misaligned.
How about cleaning the tape heads first ??
Get one of those cleaning cassettes (the good ones even have pads for adding cleaning fluid). Run that thru a coupla times.
Or try q-tips.

If that doesn't do it, it's time to get the heads realigned. That'll need an audio shop.
