I have done a little searching about this, it seems that the 17's are a little different than the others. I couldn't seem to find a confirmation if its possible yet to program the 17's. I made a few changes to my 2017 Fusion and love it. Got my wife a 2017 Explorer Sport and there are a few annoyances.

1- Get rid of the double honk when the car is running but you take the keys out
2- Put Climate controls on the screen on the right side of the instrument cluster. (We use AA alot in her car, its annoying that I cant see what the HVAC is set to, its nice to be able to use the right side of the cluster to see this in my car).
3- Is there anyway to put the external temp on the instrument cluster? In my Fusion it shows the external temp on the screen on the right side of the cluster along the bottom of that screen. Its really annoying that in her car you cannot see the external temp anywhere when using AA.

What's AA?
Most of what you require are mentioned in the below thread.

Andriod Auto (I only knew that because the OP mentioned it in a post in another thread).:) That's the problem with posting these short forms. Everyone is expected to know what they mean.

Peter

Sorry, I wasnt sure how well known AA was. I have been dealing with Samsung and Spotify for over a week about a different Android Auto issue and just got used to writing it shorthand.

When I get some time I'll read through the whole thread.

Lol, still rocking Sync2 over here.

Awesome! Thanks! I looked through all the tabs, but I didnt see it. Is it possible to add the climate to the right screen on the IPC?

Please see below, that worked for my MY2016.
Credit goes to Dan from 2Gfusions and Jason here in EF.

To enable climate in the right hand side IPC
720-05-01 xx8x xxxx xxxx

To show the temp
720-02-01 xxxx xxxx xEx6

I wounder why platinum owners can't make this change?

I added the codes to the spreadsheet for IPC Type 2. Thanks 613GT500

Did the climate control work for you for the right ipc?

The temp on the dash is in the forscan spreadsheet from platinumowner. You can search on here. Or I will look it up. Works fine. When you added the climate menu did you lose the audio and nav menus? I only have Phone and climate now.

To add Climate to the right hand IPC, and not loose Entertainment and Navigation, the code is a "B" not an "8".

This gives you Entertainment, Navigation, Phone, and Climate in the right hand side IPC.

Anyone know if Forscan can be used with Apple/Mac devices, or only with a PC?

I was able to get the OAT display on the IPC for my 2018 Explorer Sport with the type 2 IPC.

The Platinum type 3 cluster loses the IPC OAT reading but there is a unconfirmed setting to allow frost warning and potential icing conditions when OAT is below 32F.

As of now I have not seen a setting to get BOTH indications in the same type IPC.
