Hi all! Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. With that being said, new project! I'm going to be swapping my Police Interceptor Utility cluster with an XLT cluster.
(FPIU cluster)
(Ford Explorer XLT cluster)
Purpose for this upgrade is that I've got SYNC 3 and I'd want to take advantage of the cluster controls as well!
Just a few questions. How would that be setup? Would I just move the AS BUILT data over to the new cluster from my old one? I do know the "Odometer write" function works as I've used it on my buddies F-150.
I also watched a video on a guy switching his FPIS cluster to a SHO cluster. I noticed that he started at a 1/4 tank and the new cluster read half a tank. Would this be fixed in FORScan? I ran into an issue on swapping my buddies XLT cluster in his 2016 Explorer to the platinum cluster. The cluster always read at full, even at a quarter tank. This was fixable in FORScan.
If I'm successful, I'll definitely make a write up for those wanting to swap to the civilian clusters.
Video in question I watched was on YouTube, see for yourself if you want.
