Hey gang,
So I'm sure most of you saw my previous post about these, and as stated although they overall looked great there were some top / bottom cut imperfections and therefore the manufacturer is sending me corrected set, well their shipper jumped the gun and sent out another set of the "non -corrected" ones...SO IF ANYONE WANTS THESE they can have them FREE ....just pay/reimburse me (paypal) ground shipping to you....I will not even open their package...will put on your shipping address and you'll receive brand new unopened package of complete set for 4 door ...these work on ALL second gen years (as well as 1st gen). You would WANT/NEED to take a sanding block / sander to some of top / bottom edges to make them all uniform (in which you would lose some length of course) and they would all sit about a 1/4" from the top / come up shy a 1/4" at top...which may look fine. Had they just refunded my money I probably would've tried this...but they wanted to send corrected set.
P.M. If your interested otherwise in a few days I'll just set on hood of one of two second gens I know of a few blocks away.
They cost around $50.

Could you possibly send the link to purchase these? I would like to get some of the corrected ones myself.

Here you go >> Black Pillar Posts for Ford Explorer & Mercury Mountaineer 91-01 6pc Door Trim | eBay
My correct replacements are arriving today (around 5pm Pacific) so wait until I receive them, hold new pieces in place to confirm they got corrections done to satisfaction. Will post outcome here asap / today. I'll update manufacturer/ seller of outcome and let them know another 'second gener' is interested in modified / corrected set.

The updated ones are PERFECT! ...but the skinny D pillar ones ....third ones down from front were intentionally left a little long being if the customer wants them overlapping or not where the weatherstripping jumps up at bottom.... I prefer this, I can quickly sand edge to perfection being I prefer it not to overlap there.
Since I gave them a heads up about other potential buyers it shouldn't be necessary, but you might want to message them to make sure you get upgraded pack / cuts..

Well isnt that the coolest thing ever!

/\ I'm sensing some sarcasm.... come on man.... I'll not going to invest 2k into a new paint job for my 26 year old Explorer....this is a cheap touch up to keep the neighbors from having it towed away :)
P.S. Just noticed driving down the street Ford went OEM with these on the 3rd gens....

No sarcasm at lol but I do see hownit came off reading today I already saved them to my ebay account lol I really did think they where cool!

Thank you for the update. I feel like this will help a lot with the overall look considering how faded my paint is on the pillars. I'm jealous of the keyless entry I must say. I just purchased my set actually and am looking forward to getting them.

Man I have a lot of work to do to this thing. Just did an oil change and bought a k&n air filter. Previous family friend used the vehicle and put it through hell. 200k+ miles (odometer stopped at 192k in 08 or so) but still runs just fine. I need to replace the covers above the windows you can see the broken one on the driver door. Any advice is most welcome.

Yep....these ohv's run forever! (Keep on top of cooling system / new thermostat / flush etc to keep it going)
I can see why you're interested in pillar covers, these will transform your Explorer with the way it's currently sitting.
Can't help you on that above window trim piece, did you try removing one from the J.Y. ? Maybe go there with utility knife and some goof-off to break the seal.... of course no guarantee those will do the trick...

When you say flush which system are you speaking of. Also my headliner is from a junkyard. Was a hell of a time getting that out and into my explorer by myself.

Cooling system...
I'll bet on the headliner....I just did a customer job on front section of mine that was initially hideous ....

I pulled the whole thing and did a full swap. Sadly my XLT doesn't have the overhead console like the 2000 did so I have an empty cutout.

I would use a small amount of 100% silicone inside that seal when you replace it just to be sure. And with cooling system get the motorcraft tstat there just better.

Thanks for the advice. Do I need to replace the seal when I get new window trim pieces? I've also got a leak on the drivers side right at the edge of the headliner it's the only leak I haven't been able to fix. I would really like to get it to stop leaking so this headliner will last.

there is stuff at the parts store you can get, i forget the name but its orange label metal tube, its liquid window sealant it worked on my X with the same leak had one on passenger and river side front window made visors wet and on both rear side windows on cargo area, it stays fluid just long enough to leak down into where the water would have gotten in then hardens up.
