FROADER's 2001 Yamaha Road Star 1600

So I've had my dual sport XR650L for about a year now and while it's fun to ride, I wanted a cruiser. My unlce bought a 2007 Harley Ultra Glide and still had his old bike, a Yamaha Road Star 1600. I "talked" him into trading (straight across ) mine for the Yamaha. By talked I mean robbed...

Here is the new one last night when he dropped it off. 2001 Royal Star 1600, fully dressed with saddle bags, windshields, hand guards, sissy bar, Vance & Hines and crash bar.

I spent a few hours today cleaning/polishing and making it look the way I wanted. It's a long way from finished, as the paint is in pretty poor shape, but here is how it sits now.

Haha, don't think I haven't thought about that! After polishing chrome for 4 hours I'm waaay over chrome. I agree it doesn't really look like me, but so far it's been "free". If I were to do anything to it, it would be to get it painted.

tbars, the gas mileage is just as good or better than the XR650L. Hopefully I'll have a chick on the back seat soon too!.

So I found out it's a Road Star not a Royal Star. I found a forum for Yahama Star Motorcycles, and have learned a bunch of things about it already.
