A v6 driveshaft will fit a v6 truck yes.
A v6 driveshaft will not fit a v8 truck and vise versa
So as long as they are both the same engine then yes they are the same part from 97-2001
95-96 still have a U joint
97-01 have the CV boot joint at t case
V6 shafts are slightly longer then v8 (5.0) shafts so they are not interchangeable (I believe the 5 speed auto behind the v6 is longer then the 4 speed auto in the 5.0, IIRC)
