front drive shaft

i have a 97 expo with auto 4wd and hi and low lock. i was wondering if it will hurt anything to run without a front driveshaft. i was told i could burn out the t-case by driveing without the shaft! any help would be great!
(im installing a 5'' rcd lift kit, thats why im tryin to remove the shaft)

no in the 4WD transfercase you can run without the driveshaft with no problem

but also remember that the CV joints in the front axle will hate you it they are lifted beyond 2" by any type of torsion twist

I have no idea what 5" kit you are referring to there's a 4" superlift, and 2" TT with 3" body lift... and thats about it for bolt on kits
