front end rattling noise when driving

When im driving and i hit any minor bump or crack in the pavement i hear this rattling noise coming from the front end- Sounds like its coming from the wheel not sure though. When I apply the brakes the noise stops. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks everyone

a lot of things..

radius arm bushings (and possibly the brackets if the bushings are totally shot)
ball joints
sway bar links, sway bar bushings
rattling brake calipers/pads

to name a few quick ones.

since it stops when on the brakes, think of the brakes, ball joints and ra bushings first (they all get loaded when brakes are pressed).
