Front end squeak

Hello all,

I have a squeak coming from the front suspension of my '98 XLT when I go over speed bumps, turning into driveway, etc. I've taken it into the dealer twice to have it checked out. I've had the service guy ride with me so that I can show him what I'm talking about. They say that the suspension checks out fine and they don't fix the creaking. I had an older ford pickup that sounded the same way and it was the struts -- of course this didn't occur until I'd had the truck for 9 years. Anyone has any ideas of something else I can have them check/look for.

I had the same problem. If you look under General Modification there is an old topic titles " General Problem" I posted that explains all the troubles I was having. As far as the squeek noises, the dealer replaced my rear leaf springs, one of my springs, tightened my upper control arms and one shock and it was gone! Ofcourse, they had to replace all those things which pissed me off because a 1998 XLT shouldnt have ALL THOSE PROBLEMS ALREADY. But atleast now they are all gone. Tell them about those things and I hope I have helped.
