97 Eddie Bauer
Well I decided to build myself a front hitch for my explorer. I have a 1997 Eddie Bauer with a 3" body and 2" suspension lift. The three inch body lift actually made it a lot easier to make and actually stonger. I wanted this so that in the future I can use this to have a winch and I know that I built it strong enough for that purpose.

I started the build with a middle hitch section as it is called that you can get from Walmart. I then measered and cut everything to the correct sizes. I then tack welded it together and fitted it and then finished welding it up. The hitch is held on by 2 9/16" grade 8 bolts, one goes though the frame vertically and the other horizonally. I believe that this should be able to take the amount of force that I am putting on it.

Pictures of the hitch.
