So I picked up my new to me 2000 Eddie Bauer 5.0 on Monday. Got her thoroughly scrubbed inside and out, buffed and waxed. Now it's time to address some little mechanical problems and things that bug me.
Working from the very front of the truck to the back, the first thing I need to get taken care of is the section of plastic cut away from my front bumper. I will post a picture to communicate this more clearly but I'm sure you will all know exactly what I'm talking about:
On my truck, the lower plastic directly below the plate, has been cut out. The previous owner told me it was from a hitch that had been there years ago. The hole in the bumper is driving me crazy and I wouldn't mind having a front receiver in the first place.
In this example, you'll see what I'm talking about. If you can imagine, while looking at that first picture, where the hitch is sticking out, the plastic right below is cut out on my truck.
Curt Hitch Example
I can't find any more front receivers/hitches for the 2000 Explorers and if I somehow can find this Curt one, it looks like it will not fill the space for the missing plastic AND be blocked by my license plate. Anyone have any ideas what receiver might have been on my car before?
